About health4.ai

What it is

health4.ai is a free iOS app that moves Apple Health data to a destination you own: a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive (one row per day, the easiest option), or your own Postgres/Supabase database (every HealthKit sample, for power users). An open-source MCP (Model Context Protocol) server and in-app Connect Your AI config (database option) let Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible clients use that data. Background sync is best-effort, since iOS decides when the app runs, and the phone does not need to be on the same Wi-Fi network as the AI client.

Why it exists

Apple has no server-side HealthKit API, so most tools that connect health data to an AI either require the phone and the AI client to be on the same local network, or only work inside a single vendor's web app. health4.ai closes that gap by syncing HealthKit data to a Google Sheet or database the user controls, reachable from anywhere, so that standard MCP clients can work with it.

How data flows

The iPhone app sends data directly to a Google Sheet in the user's own Drive (Google scope drive.file, so the app only sees files it creates), or to a Supabase project the user owns via a Supabase Edge Function. For the database option, the MCP server (FastMCP, Python) reads from that database and answers tool calls from Claude, Cursor, or any other MCP client. There is no health4.ai account and no health4.ai server, and health4.ai never receives, stores, or has access to a user's health data. See the Privacy Policy for the full data-handling description.

Open source

Both the iOS app and the MCP server are open source under the MIT license on GitHub. Anyone can read the code, self-host the MCP server against their own Supabase project, or contribute.
